Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2026

Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

 

Mundesley (NTRO11153) Notice

 

In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to electrical fault repairs the use by vehicles (of any class) of the C289 Trunch Road from its junction with Mundesley Road for 300 metres westwards (the “Road”) in the Parish of Mundesley will be temporarily prohibited/restricted.

 

Alternative route is via: C426 Trunch Road, C426 Knapton Road,B1145 Mundesley Road, Knapton Green, C426 Back Street, C295 Gimingham Road (Trunch, Mundesley, Gimingham, Knapton).

 

The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: UK Power Networks.

 

The closure/restriction is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public or serious damage to the road or both.

 

The closure/restriction is anticipated to take place from 26th to 27th March 2026 but the Road may continue to be closed/restricted until the 15th April 2026 where the closure/restriction is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

 

This Notice shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works / when the closure/restriction is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 15th April 2026 without further notice.

 

If necessary, this Notice may be extended for an additional 21 days by further Notice and/or for a maximum of 18 months from the date this Notice is effective by further Order.

 

Any existing [restrictions or prohibitions within] Orders made under the RTRA 1984 will become suspended where they conflict with the provisions of this Notice during the operation of this Notice.

 

A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the restriction/ closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.

 

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (NTRO10845) affecting the C295 Gimingham Road from its junction with Front Street to its junction with Back Street (the “Road”) in the  Parish of Trunch to facilitate carriageway repair works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from 9th to 10th March 2026, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 21st April 2026 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

Alternative route is via: C295 Gimingham Road, C424 Brewery Road, C424 Wrights Loke, Chapel Road.

The works promoter for this restriction/closure is:  Norfolk County Council.   

Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Road where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.

The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 21st April 2026 without further notice.

If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.

In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.
